The User Information List (“/_catalogs/users/simple.aspx” or “_catalogs/users/detail.aspx”) is a hidden list in each site collection that is only visible and accessible to Site Collection Administrators. The User Information List stores metadata information about a user. The UPSA syncs information from the AD and updates the UIL but it does not delete the user from it.Scenario I have created a user “Test Maarten” in the Active Directory and granted him member permissions in Share Point.I then uploaded a document to Share Point with this user I will be redirected to the My Site of the user by clicking on “Test Maarten” I will now delete myself from the Active Directory and navigate back to Share Point to see what happened.– I can no longer log on with “Test Maarten” – I can still find “Test Maarten” with the people picker. Get Item By Id(String str Id, Int32 id, String str Root Folder, Boolean cache Rowset And Id, String str View Fields, Boolean b Dates In Utc) at Microsoft. SPContext.get_Item() Deleting users from UIL’s in bulk and across Site Collections Please read the following blog from Nico Martens if you would like to delete users in bulk with Power Shell.
I went to the subsite and checked permissions and sure enough they have read and nothing else.I've had this issue on one or 2 other occasions and have never been able to fix the issue without adding the user directly to the site instead of the AD Group they are a member of.I've tried to compare the user's group memberships to the other CSRs that are working and I cannot find anything that is different. However it’s hard to keep rules current and correct.
If you spot a rule that is out of date, please email or if you are cool tweet me,or one of the people in above acknowledgements.
